  • One day workshop on Plant Variety Protection and Farmers Right Authority was organized by JNKVV. Jabalpur on 16.3.2017 Under the Chairmanship of Hon’b le Vice Chancellor, JNKVV. Jabalpur. On this occasion 551 varieties of seed from far flung villages of the State were handed over to Dr. Hanchal, Chairman, PPV & FRA, New Delhi for registration as farmers varieties.   • National Workshop on “Workshop on Farm Mechanization in Pulses” held on 2nd November 2017 at JNKVV. Jabalpur. In this workshop about 100 participants across the country participated. Prof. V. S.   • A 5 days training program entitled “Quality assurance for better productivity” sponsored by National Seed Research and Training Centre, Varanashi was organized in the Department of plant Breeding and Genetics, JNKVV. Jabalpur during 3-7 December 2013. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. V. S. Tomar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, JNKVV Jabalpur and Dr. P. Masilamani, Director, National Seed Research and Training Centre, Varanashi in the presence of Dr. S. S. Tomar, Ex-Director of Research Services, JNKVV, Jabalpur and Dr. S. K. Rao, Dean,, Faculty of Agriculture, Jabalpur. Thirty participants representing the States of Bihar, Chhittisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Manipur and Madhya Pradesh have participated from various agencies of Seed Certification, Seed production, Department of Agriculture, Seed Research and training faculty of Seed Technology.

  • Review meeting of Crop Improvement Project: On the initiative of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. V.S.Tomar, JNKVV, Jabalpur the crop improvement review meeting was held on 3 – 4 February, 2013 at Directorate of Research Services, JNKVV, Jabalpur. The Hon’ble VC, special invitees experts Dr. S. A.Patil Former Vice Chancellor, UAS Dharwad and Ex Director IARI and Dr. Satyanarayana, Ex Director Extension, ANGRAU along with Dr. S. S. Tomar, Ex-Director of Research Services, Dr. S. K .Rao, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. P. K. Mishra, Director Instruction, Dr. R. S. Khampariya, Dean College of Agriculture, Dr. D. K. Mishra, Professor and Head, Department of Plant Breeding were present during the meeting. At the outset Director of Research Services welcome Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and experts and other members. Hon’ble V. C. emphasized that holistic approach would be required to tackle biotic and abiotic stresses, resource management, food processing/consumption and other issues related to farmers.

  • The Advisory Body meeting of Agro-Economic Research Centre, JNKVV was organized on 16th May 2013 under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor. Dr. B. S. Bhandari, Advisor, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, New Delhi and other Members of Advisory Body have attended the meeting.

  • A workshop on millets production jointly organized by JNAU and Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi was held during May 3-5, 2013 on Coordinated Millet Development Project. About 100 scientists from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Gujrat, Uttrakhand had participated their research and development work.   • The 18th Annual Group meet of AICRP on Chickpea was organized from 24th – 26th August, 2013 at JNKVV, Jabalpur. Approximately 150 scientists from different SAU’s, ICAR, ICRISAT and ICARDA nominees attended the workshop. In the inaugural function Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri Ishwar Das Rohani ji, Speaker Vidhan Sabha Madhya Pradesh. In the workshop the research activities of Rabi 2012-13 was discussed and formulated the technical programme for Rabi 2013-14. Three varieties namely GJG 0809 for NHZ, CSJ 515 for NWPZ, & GLK 28127 for NWPZ have been identified for released by the variety identification committee.

  • National seminar on Enhancing Agriculture profitability through value addition was organized under joint auspices of Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur and World Bank project on Madhya Pradesh Water Sector Restructuring Project (MPWSRP) during 25-26 July 2014 at College of Agricultural Engineering, Jabalpur.   • National seminar cum Buyers and producers conference on improved agriculture, processing and commercialization/business or medicinal and aromatic plants was organized by the Department of Plant Physiology, JNKVV, Jabalpur on 12-13th August, 2014.   • A national seminar was organized on 12-13 March,2015 in the Jawahalal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, College of Agriculture, Tikamgarh on “Weather and climate risks in agriculture under changing climate: Management and Mitigation”. The seminar was inaugurated by the Chief guest, Dr. V. S. Tomar, Hon’ble Vice chancellor of JNKVV, on 12th March, 2015 at 10AM in the College of Agriculture, Tikamgarh (M.P.). The function was chaired by Dr. S.K.Rao, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, JNKVV, Jabalpur. and Special Guests were Dr. S.S.Tomar, Director Research Services, JNKVV, Jabalpur. Dr. P. S. Rao, advisor, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi and Dr. D.C. Uprety, FNAS, New Delhi and other Eminent Guest Shri. K. K. Srivastava, Member of Legislative Assembly and Shri A. K.   • Round table meeting on Climate change Scenario Agriculture Development : threats and planning was held under the Chairmanship of Prof. V. S. Tomar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, JNKVV, Jabalpur was held on 12-13 January, 2016.   • A two days workshop on “Identification of Researchable Issues and Development of strategies for promotion of organic farming in M.P.” has been organized at JNKVV, Jabalpur in Vivekananda Hall, Collage of Agriculture, JNKVV, Jabalpur on 25-26th February, 2016. All the stake holders including researchers, extension workers, certification agencies, producers, processors, regulatory authorities, marketers, officers from Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India and Department of Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development, Madhya Pradesh have actively participate in this workshop. The major objective of this workshop were to identify need based researchable issues to develop production, processing and packaging technologies acceptable to the farming community. The proceedings of the workshop has mainly focused on enhancing net profitability of organic farmers as well as to develop implementable action plans of organic farming for the future so that each stake holder of the value chain can be benefited.   • On the occasion of international year of pulses 2016, JNKVV, Jabalpur organized one day brainstorming State Level Workshop on"Strategies for area expansion of Pulses in Madhya Pradesh" on 28th February, 2016 at Jabalpur under the Chairmanship of Prof. V. S. Tomar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, JNKVV. Jabalpur. The participants of the workshop were Research Scientists, Extension Officers of NKW/RVSKW/IIPR (ICAR) / ICRISAT / ICARDA / Directorate of Pulse Development, Department of Farmers Welfare/MPFPO/NGO's/Self Help Groups. The main focus of the meeting on the potential to enhance the productivity of pulses through adoption of improved technology, diversified ecologies of different agro climatic zones, inter and sequential cropping of pulse on field bunds (in some of the districts), tremendous scope for expansion of the pulses area in Madhya Pradesh, resource potential of Madhya Pradesh the estimated additional area can be brought under pulses to the tune of 25 lakh hectare etc. About 100 participants were present in the workshop.
